The company I have chosen to analyze is Tim Hortons. This is a Canadian brand that is part of my daily life. I am frequently enjoying their beverages and baked goods and would like to educate myself more on this company’s marketing. Tim Hortons is a fast-food chain that sells hot and cold beverages, pastries, baked goods, sandwiches, wraps, soups and snacks. Tim Horton, a Canadian hockey player, opened the first location in Hamilton, ON. Tim Hortons is an honest and open company with consumers. Tim Hortons value proposition is that they aim to provide high quality products and services for customers and communities. They achieve this through leadership, innovation, and partnerships. Tim Hortons vision is “to be the quality leader in everything they do” (About Tims, 2019).

For packaging “in 2014, [Tim Hortons] continued to integrate environmental evaluations into [their] packaging development process” (Sustainability and Responsibility, 2014). Tim Hortons has now orientated their packaging to slowly become more environmentally friendly to still draw in clientele who are eco-aware. For service, Tim Hortons values their service of products and employees. Their goal is to ensure that employees make customers days and make them feel welcome into their establishments. Their goal of the service of their products is to be tasty and satisfactory for customers. For product design, Tim Hortons provides a variety of on the go handheld baked goods that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

For place in Tim Hortons marketing mix, they have where they source their beans from, and where they sell their goods. Tim Hortons has a coffee partnership with small-scale coffee farmers in Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, and Honduras. While Tim Hortons sources their coffee beans from South America, they continue to give back to those local communities by improving their education systems, supporting local governments, and non-profit local organizations. Tim Hortons locations of where to purchase their goods are found anywhere in North America. Tim Hortons locations began to open in the U.S in 1984.

PRICE:

For price in Tim Hortons marketing mix, they are priced low for good quality food and beverages. Their prices allow their products to be accessible to all classes of income. Tim Hortons prices allow you to purchase a coffee and baked treat for less than their competitor Starbucks. Starbucks pricing is mid to high depending on the beverages and baked goods. In the pictures below, you can compare Tim Hortons regular small coffee for $1.33 to Starbucks tall (small) coffee for $1.90. This price difference may seem small, but once sizes increase, the prices begin to vary more.

For promotion in Tim Hortons marketing mix, they advertise themselves through fantastic coupons and through TV ads. Tim Hortons coupons can be found anywhere online or even instore. These coupons provide customers with additional instore deals on their products. Tim Hortons has even made a rewards program to draw in customers on a regular basis.
